There are many people believe the only way in losing weight is reduce the food intake or skip the meals. This is completely wrong. Cutting your food intake is not the key to permanent weight loss. Well, cutting your food intake will make your body to go into starvation mode. It means your body only burn fewer calories and experiences extreme hunger pangs.

And the solution is eat more. Split your big meals into 5 small and healthy meals a day will really help you. Eating 5 meals a day will boost your metabolic process and burn more calories all day long. The important is eat it frequently, If you wait too long for a meal, by the time the food comes, you will be starving and will not be able to control yourself. Eating smaller meals more often helps keep you full, and lets you be in control.

Eating smaller meals has three major advantages:
1. Once you begin to eat more often, you won't feel hungry at odd times. When you do not feel hungry, there is no reason behind eating junk foods!
2. Once you begin to eat more often, your body will keep your metabolic rate high at all times!
3. Once you begin to eat more often, your blood sugar levels won't spike up to abnormal levels. Therefore eating small meals is also good for diabetics!

Now you can see, eating small and frequent meals has many advantages! If you follow the instructions, you will soon get on your way to permanent weight loss!

If you are overweight, you have probably heard these things countless times, either from friends or doctors: If you don't lose weight, you will get afflicted with several killer diseases such as diabetes, high cholesterol level, high blood pressure, heart diseases, sleep apnea, etc. Now if you decide to start dieting, you must be sure that you are ready.

Losing weight like a challenge, you need a commitment to reach your goal. Are ready? Here the several questions that will help you to make sure are you ready or not?

1. Are you have motivation to change your meals and do more exercise?
Your successful weight loss depending on your motivation that want to change or not.

2. Do you have problem that stopping your commitment in losing weight?
A problem like financial or stress. If you have a problem that can stop you, you should finish it first, then you can start your weight loss program.

3. Do believe that you need a time to have a permanent ideal weight?
There are many diet programs that offer you losing weight fast. You should ask the other customers first before join it, ask are they regain their weight again? A permanent weight loss need a time, it’s safely, healthy and effective for long term.

4. Do you have a supporter?
A family or friends that will help or keep motivate you in your weight loss program. More better if you have a supporter that also will accompany you in diet.

If you always follow my blog, I always write “use the diet diary”. Ok, but what is the diet diary? You need to analyze about the food you eat and the activities you do in order to lose weight. And to help you analyze it, you need a notebook or diet diary.

And the function of this diet diary is:
- You will know what you have eat and the activities you done in order to lose weight
- Help you to analyze what the right food to eat and wrong food to avoid
- Help you to analyze what make eat more than you should
- Help you to analyze what the best activities to burn more calories
- etc.

Ok, then how to use the diet diary? Check it out:
1. First page, write about your goal. Your ideal weight (use BMI to check your ideal weight), how much you want to lose at this week, month…
2. Second page, “Weight Loss Graph” (we will talk about it later)
2. Write all the food, beverage, and the snack that you eat each day.
3. Write the activities you have done each day. Your target is burn 300 calories each day.
4. Analyze it every night!
5. At the end of the weekend, time to weight. How many pound you lose or gain.
6. Then move it at the Weight Loss Graph you have made. You will see that if the graph will go down… means you lose pounds. If go up… well, analyze it again, what make you gain weight.

There are many reasons for people doing diet. But, no matter what the reason, if you want to losing weight, you should see the rule of the right diet. When you have the wrong idea about diet, you will not care anything again, include your health.

I always meet the people who skip or reduce their meal in order to lose weight. Well, it’s completely wrong idea. If they keep doing that, they will not able to lose weight. You also need to eat fiber. Fiber will help you to keep you more satisfied. Eat the fruits with fiber that don’t have many sugar or not too sweet, like an apple, strawberry, banana, orange, etc.

If you still remember my previous post, how to eat in losing weight, here you will learn what you eat and how much you eat and also when you eat. You can lose your belly fat with this method. Just if you follow this advice you can really lose belly fat with diet.

1. What you eat: There are different types of foods consisting of protein, carbohydrates and fats. You must eat from all groups but in different ratios or percentages. Protein should be 30%, while carbohydrates should be 60% and fats should be 10%.

Make sure you eat superior protein such as chicken, fish, meat etc. And complex carbs such as brown bread, fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds etc. Don’t forget to eat essential fats like the fats found in fish such as mackerel, sardines, and tuna. Also fats from nuts, avocados, pumpkins, sesames, olive oil, walnuts. All these foods can make you lose belly fat with diet.

2. How much you eat: Its no good acquiring good nutritional food that is low in calories and fats(essential fats) but then when it is time to eat you stuff yourself till you can’t move. You have to exercise food portion control in order to lose belly fat with diet.

The rule of thumb I use when I want to lose belly fat with diet is to take a medium size plate and divide it into thirds. One third will be for my protein source. The second third will be for my carbohydrate source and the third will be for my vegetables. You may be wondering about the fat portion. Well the meat or chicken or fish will contain enough fat.

3. When to eat: As regards when to eat, you should eat immediately after you wake up or if you exercise immediately you wake up then eat after that. Then eat every three hours throughout the day. as i said the meals don’t have to be large but the have to be regular or frequent i.e every three hours. This will keep your metabolism high thus helping you lose belly fat with diet.

I always told to my client “Make your diet as a lifestyle, not a pressure”. But what it’s mean? Well, read this article and you will be able enjoy your diet.

Before we start I want to make sure one thing, if you “skip or reduce your meals”, you only turn your body into ‘starvation’ mode. If you activate this mechanism, you make your body think that you’re in wild, can’t get any food to eat, you are in danger of famine.

Then your body will respond it by lowering your metabolic rate (the rate your body burns fuel). If this keep happen, your body drops the metabolic rate down even further by using its own precious muscle tissue for fuel. It will do all it can to hold on to its fat stores, chewing into your muscle tissue instead which damages your health long term. You will be simply will not get successful weight loss.

You will not know the level is that will trigger this 'survival mode' so always to stay above the World Health Organizations bottom level starvation diet of 2100 calories for men and 1800 for women.

If you ask all diet consultants, the best way in losing weight is “EXERCISE”. Well, there are many people hate the exercise… at first I also hate it. But I know that it’s really important for my health. Do the exercise then you will be able to boost your metabolism to help you in losing weight. Get the healthy and slimmer body.

Then you need to split your big meals into 5-6 small meals, eat it every 3-4 hours each one. The purpose is to keep your body stay full until the next eat time coming. Eat your meals with the different calorie of values (read this).

It will change your way in losing weight and make it permanent. That’s why I called it “lifestyle”, help you in permanent weight loss, not just some fad or 'diet' you go on and off and never works anyway. This ways will give you ideal body - try it and see for yourself.

With the excess fat in their body, obese people should do some activities that can help them in burn their fat. Exercise is the first suggestion in losing weight. The main idea of exercise is to increase the heart rate for a period of time. For an extremely obese person, an inflated heart rate is not that hard to achieve.

The first thing to do is “Stay Away From the Gym”. Sound strange? Well, there is good reason. You should know that gyms are made for thin and athletic people. Ab machines usually have a maximum weight of 250 pounds. Treadmills are created for people who are of “average” weight and weight benches are too narrow for an extremely overweight body. Also, the added weight makes traditional cardio difficult, but there are ways to integrate exercise without causing injury.

Yes, just because I say to stay away from the gym does not mean you can stay away from exercise. Swimming, walking, biking and dancing are fantastic ways to raise the heart rate and they tend to be fun. Fun and exercise need to be the best of friends for anyone to stay on track. If you are having difficulties walking for long periods of time, try sitting in a chair with a straight back and lifting your arms over your head then back to your sides. Repeat this motion and your heart rate will increase.

Life as an overweight person is a difficult struggle that should include exercise whenever possible. For obese person, exercise is the key to the healthy weight loss. Try the exercise program that suitable for you and you can enjoy it. You will be happy you did!

I always meet the people that skip their meals in order to lose weight, even in many forums I always meet the people that suggest ‘skip meals’. It’s wrong, Wrong, and WRONG! Don’t follow the people that suggest something like that! They don’t know what are they talking about. Want a proof that they are wrong?

Just ask the slim or thin people! Are they skip their meals to get the ideal weight? NO! Even they eat more!

If you skip your meals, you only make your body in starvation mode. Your body will think that you live in the jungle… don’t have enough food to eat! Then your body will only burn fewer calories, not help you in losing weight! At your next meal you will over-eating, make you fatter.

Skipping is not the right way in losing weight. Slim or thin people never skip their meal, they also never reduce their food intake. Then what they do in order to lose weight?

They realize it or not, they have a high metabolic rate. You also can have it! The best way is “Exercise”. The purpose is increase your heart rate, it impact to your metabolism… That’s why if you run faster, you will feel your body warm/hot. Because your metabolism work faster. Whatever diet program you choose, you still need to follow the basics of dieting, then you will be able to lose weight easily and permanent. I will tell you about three basics of effective weight loss.

1. Metabolism is the key in losing weight
Keep in mind that you need high metabolism to help you in burning fat. If you have high metabolism, you will be able lose a lot of weight even while at rest; on the other hand, if you have low metabolism, then you should find ways to increases it. One way of speeding up your metabolism is the right eating system, eat the right food at the right time. (Hint: visit this site for more information)

2. Exercises are a must
You should exercise regularly and never skip even a single workout session! If you are afraid of high intensity exercises such as cardio and resistance training, you can start with lighter aerobics. Aerobics will help you burn more fat as cardio. If you cannot do exercises at all, regular walking alone will help you in burning fat.

3. Don't lose it too quickly
I know that you want to lose your weight quickly and fit yourself into one of your old jeans or bikinis, but you should never attempt to lose weight too fast. Ideally you should lose no more than 1 or 2 pounds per week. If you lose more than that then it can affect your health negatively. If you think you are losing weight too fast, you should immediately see a doctor or diet consultant.

For obese people need to work harder than others in order to lose weight. This doesn't mean that you cannot lose weight at all; but you shouldn't expect yourself to become ultra slim like others as soon as possible.

Losing Weight with Stairs??

Well, it’s not about popular diet program. It’s just a way to do exercise. Many people have a wrong idea with “exercise” in losing weight. They believe that with doing more exercise they will gain their ideal weight as soon as possible, that’s why the go to for jogging every morning, go to gym every day… Well, I’m going to tell you that all are wrong! Exercise in losing weight means increase your heart rate (read my previous post: The effective exercise in losing weight). That’s my only move more often already help you in losing weight.

You don’t need to do extreme exercise, you just need simple thing to make you move more often, like walking more than 30 minutes a day. But how about you are always in home? Especially for housewife. We will use the stairs in your house to help you. You only need 20 minutes of your unoccupied time, better than sit and watch television, right?

First, step with the left foot first when you climbing stairs. Swing your hand while you step up and down. Set your swings order to elbow in line with the shoulders.You can combine it with the jump or run. While running pass up one stair and then down again. That is the left foot, now do it with the other foot. Then, for cooling, place the right heel on the first rung. Align legs with the body to bend forward, hold for a few moments.

You can also try cycling for 20 minutes, quick way for 20 minutes, jump rope for 5 minutes, and up and down stairs for 15 minutes. Or could also make the walk as the day-to-day routines, 6,000 steps can burn 300 calories.

The effective Exercise in Losing Weight


Exercise is the best way in losing weight. You can gain your ideal as soon as possible with the right exercise. But there are many people still have a wrong idea about exercise, they wake up earlier jogging every day or go to gym every day. Well, for them maybe it just plain exercise, but for me, that is extreme exercise. If you one of them, I will ask one question for you, ”Did you lose any pounds with it?”. Some of you maybe said YES, but I’m sure after a few days you gain any pounds again, right?

You should know that these kinds of exercise will not burn any fat… These kinds of exercise burn the protein from your muscle. When you do this exercise, you will quickly lose the energy, and your body must to supply the reserve immediately. And to get the reserve immediately, your body will get it from the protein not the fat.



Your body can’t get from the fat because there are many process for change the fat become energy, but your body need it as soon as possible because of your activity. The only way is get it protein.

The fact is simple exercise with the long duration already enough for effective fat burn. I always said it move more often. That’s why I always suggest to my client for walking more than 30 minutes a day. Walking will not lose your energy quickly and your body have a time to prepare the fat into energy. After 30 minutes, your body begin to use the fat as the energy. I think 30 minutes walking is not extreme, right?

Calorie Shifting

If you consume more calories than it burns, the excess will be stored and will eventually turn to fat. Then if you want to lose your weight, you need to burn more calorie than you consume. But how to do that? Many people have a wrong idea about it! They think the best way is skip their meals, reduce the calorie intake then they will lose many pounds. I already make the conclusion about that statement at previous post, read it here, I don’t need to explain it again.

The best way is exercise regularly! If you really hate to do exercise, introduce, The Calorie Shifting – it’s more about eating system. With calorie shifting program, you will eat different calories of value, then your body get confuse burn the calorie faster. After burn all your calories, your metabolism will burn the fat. If you shift your calorie intake in your body, your metabolism will work faster getting stuck in the same routine.

To make it happen, you need to do two simple things:
1. Eat different total amount of calories daily. For the example, today you consume 2000 calories, tomorrow 1800 calories, third day 1600 calories, fourth day 1400 calories, and the fifth day back to 2000 calories, and so on. (Never consume below than 1200 calories, it’s very danger for your body)
2. Change the total amount of calories you consumed at each meal. For the example, today you decide to eat a large breakfast, medium lunch, and small dinner; then tomorrow you decide to eat a small breakfast, large lunch, and medium dinner; and so on.

Calorie shifting allow you to eat every kinds of food, including the fat. You are going to eat the food you like and make you satisfied. Your metabolism will increase, work faster in burning the calorie and of course the fat!

At first, you should know it's not how much you eat that make you overweight, but how you eat. Look the fact below:

“Millions of people get up and skip breakfast. (Note: your body not get enough nutrient after sleep 8 hours) and at the lunch, they eat a large lunch, nothing for another six hours or so, then go home pig out on a huge dinner complete with ice cream for desert, then go to bed. And tomorrow they do the same things.”

No wonder they're all overweight! They don't know how to eat.

Then you want to know how to eat in losing weight? How about 5 times a day? Split your 3 big meals into 5 small meals a day. First at all you should begin with the breakfast, start your day with the fiber, protein, and a glass of milk.

After that a snack in mid-morning, a light lunch followed by a mid-afternoon snack and a light dinner is the ticket. The other suggestion is avoid junk food (or you can read my previous post about: Eat fast food? Why not?).

Eat your meals frequently, the ideal is 4 hours per meal. Maybe you are thinking that you will be consuming too many calories with this way. But since you're spreading out your eating, your body will be able to use the food you put into it without storing it as fat.

Just that simple? Well, it’s too simple. You should try it for only two weeks and you will be almost guaranteed startling results.

Eat Fast Food? Why not?

If you ask your diet consultant about the fast food, they will suggest you to avoid it. Well, I also suggest my client to avoid it. But sometimes, we don’t have time to prepare our meals, and the only solution is the fast food restaurant just around our home or office. Then I try my best to make a solution for this thing. Here the 3 ways to healthier fast food.

1. First at all, choose the small size. Instead, choose a children's sized, which has about 250 to 300 calories. This switch alone saves 200 to 300 calories. Or better yet, select a lower calorie option. (Hint: For example, ask for reduced-fat mayonnaise or mustard on your sandwich.)

2. If you want to eat more, choose a large entree salad with grilled chicken, shrimp or garden vegetables with fat-free or low-fat dressing on the side, rather than regular salad dressing, which can have 100 to 200 calories per packet. Be careful with the high-calorie salads, such as those with deep-fried shells or those topped with breaded chicken or other fried toppings. (Hint: skip salad extras, such as cheese, bacon bits, croutons and fried chips, which quickly increase your calorie count.)

3. Then, pay attention with what you drink. Many beverages contain a large number of calories. For example, a large regular soda (32 ounces) has about 300 calories. Rather than to order diet soda, better to order unsweetened iced tea, sparkling water or mineral water. (Hint: skip the shakes and other ice-cream drinks. Large shakes can contain more than 800 calories and all of your saturated fat allotment for the day.)

With these tips, you can dieting and eat healthy even at fast-food restaurants.

Why many people can’t lose any pounds? Because their body already adapted with a certain amount of calories, it make your metabolism to slow down significantly. To lose weight permanently you mustn’t allow your body to adapt the specific level of calorie daily, that’s why you need to shift your calorie.

The main idea of calorie shifting is to trick your metabolism for work faster, burn more calorie, and burn the fat storage. It will help you losing weight fast. And you need to eat 5 meals a day. But many people have a wrong idea about this. They eat every kinds of food they want, the biggest portion, and eat at the wrong time. Yes, you can eat every kinds of food you like. The only thing to do is never consume the exact same portion breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day.

Here the simple things to do:
1. Eat different total amount of calories daily. For the example, today you consume 2000 calories, tomorrow 1800 calories, third day 1600 calories, fourth day 1400 calories, and the fifth day back to 2000 calories, and so on. (Never consume below than 1200 calories, it’s very danger for your body)
2. Change the total amount of calories you consumed at each meal. For the example, today you decide to eat a large breakfast, medium lunch, and small dinner; then tomorrow you decide to eat a small breakfast, large lunch, and medium dinner; and so on.

To make you more understand, I have drawn up a sample of how you might eat for the next one week period:

Monday: 2000 Calories
Breakfast = 700, Snack time = 200, Lunch = 550, Snack time = 100, Dinner = 450

Tuesday: 1800 Calories
Breakfast = 500, Snack time = 100, Lunch = 550, Snack time = 150, Dinner = 500

Wednesday: 1600 Calories
Breakfast = 450, Snack time = 150, Lunch = 500, Snack time = 100, Dinner = 400

Thursday: 1400 Calories
Breakfast = 400, Snack time = 100, Lunch = 400, Snack time = 100, Dinner = 400

Friday: back to 2000 Calories (you must never eat below than 1200 calories)
Breakfast = 600, Snack time = 100, Lunch = 550, Snack time = 200, Dinner = 550

You can see the different calories of value you each day and each meal, that’ why it called Calorie shifting. If you keep shift your calorie intake, your metabolism will get confused and begin to burning extra fat tissue.

Setting goal is the right step in losing weight. But the question is how to setting the right goal? I always meet the people who set unrealistic goal (like losing 10 pounds in 2 weeks). And also meet the people that don’t how to set the goal, the ideal weight for theirself.

At first, you need to know your ideal weight, look at my last post: Know your ideal weight for learn about BMI (Body Mass Index). Knowing your ideal weight is the first step in losing weight. Know how much you need to lose. Not knowing your goal is like racing a car without finish line.

After know your clear goal, you should make the deadline. What time you will gain it. The natural is losing 2-3 pounds per week, calculate the number of weeks you need to lose your extra pounds.


But, it’s not enough. You need ACTION. Yes, this is the important part. Choose the right diet program for yourself, eat the right and healthy food, exercise, or everything that will make losing weight with healthy and fast.

Then you need something to make yourself in the right direction. The thing you need is called diet diary, record all your weight loss activities (it must contain food you eat, beverage you drink, exercise, diet program you follow, etc). It will help you to analyze and make correction as you go.

At last, the important at all is Positive Thinking. Believe yourself that you can gain your ideal weight as soon as possible.
