Weight Loss Exercise at Home

October 20, 2009

Weight Loss Exercise at HomeYou can burn your body fat with doing the right and effective weight loss exercise routine AT HOME. Yup, you will be able to do a weight loss exercise at home without any added equipment. There are simple concepts that you need to understand and it will help you to maximize your weight loss exercise.

For the example, don't spend the majority of time targeting problem areas. Spot-reduction exercises for specific body parts will rarely produce significant weight loss because they are not challenging enough to accelerate the fat burning process. To put it more simply: they don't burn as many calories or elevate your metabolism to the extent that other, more effective exercises will.

And if your goal is lose weight quickly, choosing more straining exercises will help you to lose weight loss more efficiently than spending valuable time doing the less difficult spot-reduction exercises intended to tone only a single area of your body.

Compare 50 stomach crunches to 50 push-ups (they don't all have to be done in one set). The push-up repeats are significantly more straining and require more effort; consequently doing 50 push-ups will burn more calories and produce more weight loss results than 50 crunches. Additionally you will sculpt your chest, shoulders, and triceps while you work your core! Crunches can't do that.

Perform different exercises back-to-back with very few or no breaks between each exercise to maximize calorie burning efforts. This will increase your fat burning metabolism to a much greater degree, and allow you to complete the workout in less time. If necessary, start slowly and gradually increase the number of repetitions, decrease break times, and make more ambitious exercises.

Choose one exercise from each of the following exercise groups:
- Lower body (squats, step-ups, lunges, hip extensions, jump squats, one leg RDL, etc)
- Upper body pushes (push-ups, dips, handstand push-up variations)
- Upper body pulls (inverted rows and chin-ups)
- Abdominal exercise (planks, inch worms, reverse crunches)
- Total body exercise/miscellaneous (jumping jacks, burpees, bear crawls, squat thrusts)

Here the example of a weight loss exercise routine at home:
Alternating reverse lunges - 12 each leg
Close grip push-ups - 10
Inverted rows - 12
Plank - 30 seconds
Jumping jacks - 50 to 100
Perform each exercise back-to-back, without breaking between exercises before continuing to the next exercise.

Repeat this routine three to five more times. Make sure you choose big, compound exercises over those targeted to "problem spots". The bigger movements (such as lunges, squats, burpees, push-ups, inverted rows, planks, etc) will help you burn body fat to a much greater degree and allow you to achieve more results in less.

Also, make sure you keep your rest periods to a minimum and increase your repetitions and try more ambitious exercises over time.

30 Minutes per Day for Lose Weight

August 30, 2009

best exercise for weight lossThis article wrote by Harrison Loke. In this article, you will know that exercise will really help you in losing weight, but you don’t need to do it every day.

One of the myth about losing weight is we need to exercise when we wake up until we go to bed. However, the truth is not the same.

I have been carrying out my lose weight program since last November and within 3 months, I managed to lose 20 pounds. There are no secret for my success. What I'm doing is control my diet and exercise. For my diet, I only eat something that is healthier such as whole grain, vegetables, less oil in my food, and eat on time etc. For my exercise, I only spend 4 days per week and each time it only takes me about 30 minutes.

Yes it only took me 30 minutes per day and I manage to lose my weight. The good news is I never gain back my weight even I go back to my old diet for 1 or 2 days. Now you understand that exercising to lose weight can be very simple and easy. We don't have to exercise for the whole day to keep our body fit. Just allocate 30 minutes per day and do this 3-4 days per week is enough to see your weight going down.

Look at the workout routine that I used to carry out every week and my weight is keeping down week after week:

Monday: Rest
Tuesday: Half-hour of exercising. (I only jog on my treadmill)
Wednesday: Half-hour of strength training such as squats, sit-ups, push-ups....
Thursday: Repeat Tuesday
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Rest
Sunday: Repeat Tuesday

PS: You can change the workout routine according to your daily time table. But you must commit to yourself to exercise at least 3 days per week.

As you can see, it really doesn't take you so much of time to exercise and lose weight. The point here is take action and you will lose weight. Of course, you must control your diet too. If you consume a lot of fast food or junk food after exercise, you will not be getting any results. You must learn how to eat healthier and do the exercise. If you can do this, you can lose weight, just like me.

What the Best Exercise for Weight Loss

February 8, 2009

When someone ask me about what the best exercise for weight loss, I can’t give any good answer, well, because there is no one single exercise that will make you lose weight easily. The fact, if you really want to lose weight, there is only one thing that will do it: hard work!

The first thing that you need to do is set the realistic goals, ask yourself are they reasonable and realistic to achieve. If you set lose thirty pounds in a month, you better have an appointment at the clinic scheduled! Finding the best exercise for weight loss is about more than getting on a treadmill and running until you’re thin, however.

The next thing to do is about your diet. This is about finding a combination of the best exercise for weight loss and the right diet. If you are really serious about losing weight, you have to stop kidding yourself about the food you eat. After you set your goals, you simply cannot eat fried food, fast food, etc. Stay away from fizzy or soda drinks. Start to choose the right food to eat that will help your exercise, for the example a small chocolate every few days can actually help increase your metabolism and increase the release of endorphins when you exercise. This also means you can feel better when you exercise and want to do it more!

About the exercise, you need to ask your personal trainer about what the best exercise for weight loss. If you are very overweight, I would not suggest you starting with sit ups. It only hurt your neck and back, and you will do them for months without seeing any results. If this is your first time to exercise, try to avoid the treadmill, well, for some reasons. You can stick to the bicycles or spinning machines to get your cardio up.

Try to work on a weekly schedule on the bikes, increasing your difficulty level, incline or time once per week by small margins. By the end of the week you should be finding the setting you have chosen much easier than it was at the beginning. Keep it on this setting until the start of the next week though, because your body needs to adjust to your current energy output levels. You will find that the best exercise for weight loss involves both a combination of this type of incrementally increasing cardio and mild weight training.
